Rounds 1 and 2 Results | Round Three Live Scoring

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team had uncharacteristically inconsistent play throughout its lineup during Monday's opening 36 holes of the Amelia Island Collegiate and currently sits in a tie for sixth place.

The Owls posted a 12-over par 300 in the first round, and a 15-over par 303 total in the second round for a 27-over par total 603, 20 shots behind Mercer, which leads the 16-team field at the par-72, 6,029-yard Amelia National Golf & Country Club in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

"As a team, we were a bit disappointed with our play and scoring," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Our expectations and standards are much higher than shooting 300-303. This is not what this team is capable of, and I'm expecting for us to show our true ability tomorrow. Our usual strengths, short game, and putting, were our weakness today. Although disappointed, were also motivated to put together a low round tomorrow."

Sophomore Charlotte Charrayre recorded rounds of 73-74 for a three-over par 147 total and is in a tie for 11th place, ten shots behind Daytona State College's Jiweon Jeon, who turned in rounds of 71-69 for a four-under total of 140.

"Charlotte was very impressive today," Brinsmead said. "She started her day with a double and through 36 holes was three over total. She made some really great birdies and her patience was outstanding. She's been working really hard, and I'm happy for her to put together two solid rounds."

Charrayre is one of three Kennesaw State players in the top 45 as she is joined by sophomore Medy Thavong and senior Laura Estefenn. Thavong posted rounds of 74-76 for a four-over par total of 150 which is tied for 23rdt. Estefenn recorded rounds 76-77 for a nine-over-par total of 153 which has her tied for 45th.

Senior Dulcie Sverdloff shot rounds of 79-76 for an 11-over par 155 and is tied for 53rd. Playing in her first two rounds as an Owl, Maddi Caldwell carded rounds of 77 and 81 to finish with a 14-over par total of 158.

The Owls conclude play on Tuesday with final-round action beginning at 8:30 a.m. Kennesaw State will be grouped with Winthrop and Samford. All the action can be followed live on the Internet at www.golfstatresults.com.
