FORT MYERS, Fla. – Freshman Carlotta Gianolla scored 13 points to lead the Kennesaw State women's basketball team during a 69-35 loss to ASUN Conference leader Florida Gulf Coast Saturday at Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Fla.

The loss snapped the Owls' (7-17, 6-4) five-game winning streak, while the Eagles improved to 20-7 and 9-1 in conference play.

Florida Gulf Coast jumped out to a 10-0 lead and remained in control throughout the game as it built a 41-15 halftime advantage.

The Eagles shot 48.1 percent (25-for-52) from the field, including 9-for-19 (47.4) from behind the 3-point line, while limiting the Owls to a 28.9 percent (13-for-45) field goal percentage mark.

Florida Gulf Coast was able to keep Kennesaw State's leading scorer, Deandrea Sawyers, in check as the Owls' senior was limited to 1-for-9 shooting and two points after getting into foul trouble, eventually fouling out and playing only 27 minutes.

Turnovers were key as the Eagles turned 21 KSU turnovers into 24 points.
