SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Drew Wendel and Manuel Castellanos won their singles matches, and the Owls won the doubles point, but Wofford pulled out a 4-3 victory over the Kennesaw State men's tennis team on Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C.
 
For the fourth consecutive match, the Owls (1-4) won the doubles point as Simon Pritchard and Lucas de Torres Curth won their match at No. 1 doubles (6-2) over Haris Poric and Julian Chousa, while David Durham and Sam Slade were victorious at No. 3 doubles (6-0) over Lucas Cerbelli and Patrick Longest. Pritchard, the reigning ASUN Player of the Week, is now 4-1 in doubles action this spring.
 
Kennesaw State stretched its lead to 3-0 over Wofford as Castellanos took down Peter Coombs, 6-3, 6-2, and Wendel dispatched Kyle Barr, 6-3, 6-3. But it was all Wofford from there, as the Terriers claimed singles matches at No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 – all in tight three-setters – to win in comeback fashion.
 
Wofford improved to 6-3 with the victory, including an undefeated 5-0 at home.
 
"Kudos to Wofford for playing and competing the way they did today," said Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon. "We failed to capitalize and close the match when we had chances. This one hurts, but we have to find a way to bounce back quickly and get ready for Alabama State next Saturday."
 
Slade and Fermin Calvo Barcelo each won their opening set in singles, while Pritchard and Jake Bouchillon each forced a decisive third set with second-set wins.
 
The Owls are back in action next Saturday, hosting Alabama State at the Siegel Tennis Courts at 2 p.m.
