STORYLINE
After a cold spell to begin the third quarter, Kennesaw State went on a 10-1 run to open the fourth quarter, tying the game 46-46 with 5:45 remaining following a pair of free throws by Street. KSU went on to outscore the Eagles, 18-9, in the period and forced overtime when Street hit a jumper with :16 remaining in regulation to tie the score at 54-54.

Following a 1-for-11 showing from the field in the third quarter, Kennesaw State, sparked by its defense that forced seven turnovers in the final 10 minutes of regulation, made seven field goals and went 4-for-4 from the foul line. KSU also held Georgia Southern (3-6) scoreless for the final 3:37 of the overtime period.

The Owls trailed 31-27 at halftime despite holding advantages in shooting percentage, rebounding and points in the paint. However, KSU had 11 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes that led to eight Georgia Southern points. The Eagles were able to capture the lead by making 10 of 11 free throw attempts, while the Owls were just 3 of 6 from the foul line. Street led all players with 12 points at the break.

QUOTING THE COACH
"This was a great team win and is really going to help us a lot," head coach Agnus Berenato said. "Anytime you are down 11 points, it is going to be to a challenge and with such a young team, it would have been easy to fold and they didn't.

"I told the team that it was going to be a one possession game based on how even the teams' stats were and that is what it came down to," Berenato added. "The team had a great belief in itself and the coaches did a great job from the scout to game adjustments."

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Kennesaw State forced 24 turnovers that led to 27 points and recorded a 35-16 advantage in points scored in the paint. Street and Gianolla extended their streak of double-digit scoring to five games, while Street led the Owls in scoring for the sixth time this season. Freshman Brianna Hoover came off the bench to contribute three points, three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.

KSU limited Georgia Southern to just 28.8 percent shooting for the game, marking the second-lowest percentage by an opponent this season. Clemson shot 25.9 percent in the season opener.

"Kamiyah had just an unbelievable game and did an amazing job at both ends of the floor, scoring, rebounding and defensively. She really put the team on her back," Berenato said. "Alexis had a really good game and I thought she did a great job playing with four fouls. Carlotta got us going in the second half and sparked the comeback, and Brianna Hoover gave us a nice spark on defense and really stepped up for us."
