ASUN Release
KENNESAW
, Ga.- Kennesaw State's
Jordan Gray was named ASUN Conference Indoor Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon, the conference announced Wednesday.
"I'm so proud of Jordan," director of track and field and cross country
Andy Eggerth said. "Every coach knows hard workers, but if you saw what she puts herself through on a daily basis you would be much more impressed than just the result, and that result is mighty impressive. She had arguably the best performance in the NCAA last weekend with the number one pentathlon result in the World and the second-best long jump result in the NCAA. It is all just testament to her passion and drive. It is this, that makes her a First Team All-American.
The senior won the pentathlon at the Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon with a school record 4221 points. Her 4221 points lead the NCAA currently and ranks number one in the World this season. She set the school pentathlon and open long jump record with a leap of 6.07m (19'11") to win that pentathlon event. That long jump ranks second in the NCAA this season and number two in the World this season. The Ball Ground, Ga. native also collected wins in the pentathlon shot put with a toss of 13.24m (43'5.25") and the 800m with a time of 2:22:80.
Gray and the rest of the Owls return to action Saturday, January 13 at the Gene Edmonds Open hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.
