Tuscaloosa, Al.- Six members of the Kennesaw State Cross Country teams finished their seasons at the NCAA Cross Country South Regionals at  Harry Pritchett Running Park on Friday, Nov.10.

Three Owls ran in the women's 6k race. Caitlyn Farrell led the Owls for the seventh consecutive meet finishing 77th in 21.36.6. Saidah Grant took home 122nd in a time of 22:19.2. The senior closes out her career having competed in 13 meets including two NCAA South Regionals. Freshman Katie Meyer concluded her season finishing 168th in a time of 33:37.9.

Logan Poteet, Ben Patterson and Chase Kennedy represented the Owls in the men's 10K race. Poteet was the Owls top finisher for the fifth consecutive meet with a time of 31.59.8.  He wrapped up his first season for KSU with five top 33 finishes in seven events. Patterson finished 108th in 33:37.9. He closed out his season with three finishes in the top 37 in six meets. Chase Kennedy started the race but was unable to finish due to injury.

Coach Poteet on the Teams Performances Today
"The women ran well, led by a huge drop in time by Caitlyn. She ran 22:04 here less than a month ago and dropped that by about 30 seconds today. You could see that coming. Saidah ran better, and I still believe she could go a little earlier and drop even more. Katie ran about the same time, but I believe she is having iron issues. I thought she gave great effort today.

"For the men, Logan had a pretty good race today. He went out more conservative, but I was hoping he would be in the 31s. For Ben, this was his first 10k and was a big learning lesson. Good effort, but bad luck for Chase who fell and was unable to finish. He seemed ready to drop a good time."

Kennesaw State Head Coach David Poteet
