Golfweek Rankings
KENNESAW, Ga. – A successful start to the 2017-18 season has earned the Kennesaw State Women's Golf team it's highest ranking in program history. The Owls rank No.39 in the Golfweek rankings that were released on Wednesday (Oct.4).
KSU's current No. 39 rank is the team's highest by Golfweek since the Owls wrapped up the 2011-12 and 2012-13 season No. 63 nationally.
The coaches' poll represents one of two rankings that head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead's Owls appear in as they are No. 38 in Golfstat.
"It's a really exciting time for the team, the energy is positive, and contagious," Brinsmead said. "These early rankings are testament to the team buying into our system and Im proud of their work ethic and results. We've been hitting our goal of 295 or better each event. This outcome goal achievement is a part of our focus on process."

Madison Caldwell have paced the Owls through the first two events.

Charlotte Charrayre,
Medy Thavong and
Kwan Wongsinth have all contributed to the Owls early success.
"Major props also need to be given our new assistant,
Eric Croux," Brinsmead said. "He has added a new dimension to the coaching staff and the team has responded really well. We're excited for the second half of the fall season."
The Owls finished third at the Lady Paladin Invitational in their season-opening tournament. The team posted rounds of 298-289-297-874 for a 10-over par total of 874.
Madison Caldwell led the way for the Owls carding rounds of 72-70-67 for a 54-hole total of 7-under par 209, finishing four shots out of first place. Her 36-hole total of 142 and final score of 209 established career best totals. Her total of 7-under par 209 was a school record for 54 holes on a par 72 course.
KSU took fourth place at the Johnie Imes Invitational on Oct.2-3 after rounds of 296-292-290 for a 14-over par total of 878.
Roanne Tomlinson finished sixth with rounds of 72-71-70 for a 3-under par of 213. All five Owls finished in the top 45 in the event.
The Owls will return to action at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Kiawah Island Turtle Point Course, hosted by College of Charleston on Oct. 22-24 in Charleston, S.C.
