Final Results

COLUMBIA, MO. –
The Kennesaw State women's golf team fired a pair of solid rounds during the final two rounds of the Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 3) at the par-72, 6,204-yard Club at Old Hawthorne.

The Owls carded rounds of 4-over par 292 and 2-over par 290 for a 14-over par total of 878 to finish in fourth place in the tournament. The Owls made 44 birdies, 163 pars and led the field in par 5 scoring at 6-under par for the tournament.

"After a marathon day of 36 holes, I am very proud of this result," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "We really had some hot streaks out there and made quality birdies. We've got the ability to go under par and this team will just keep getting better. Rounds of 8-over par, 4-over par, and 2-over par are a testament to the strength of this roster. We shot lower each round, and that's also a high note for this event. Major props need to go to Roanne (Tomlinson) and Henriette (Nielsen). Roanne posted a sixth-place finish, and Henriette shot her career low 69! Coaching this team is a blast, and this result is well deserved."

Junior Roanne Tomlinson led the way for Kennesaw State over the final 36 holes. She rolled in 12 pars and four birdies in route to a 1-under 71 in the second round. She posted her season-best round of 2-under par 70 in the final round with 14 pars and four birdies. She finished the tournament with a 3-under par total of 213.

Senior Henriette Nielsen carded a 2-over par 74 in the second round with five birdies and seven pars. Nielsen registered her career-low round of three-under par 69 in the final round with nine pars and six birdies. She finished the tournament in a tie for 15th with a four-over par total of 220.

Junior Madison Caldwell recorded a 3-over par 75 with 10 pars in the second round. She would fire a 4-over par 76 with 13 pars in the final round. She took home a tie for 24th place with a 7-over par total of 223.

Junior Charlotte Charrayre recorded rounds of 73-75 for a 10-over par total of 226 and tie for 37th. Fellow junior Medy Thavong shot 74-80 in the final two rounds for a three-round total of 13-over par 229 and a tie for 45th.

Missouri won the 14-team event with a 3-under par total of 861. Tereza Melecka of ETSU claimed the individual title with a 7-under par of 206.

The Owls will return to action at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Kiawah Island Turtle Point Course, hosted by College of Charleston on Oct. 22-24 in Charleston, S.C.
