KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State sophomore
Carlotta Gianolla was a unanimous selection to the 2017-18 ASUN Preseason All-Conference team that was announced on Wednesday (Oct. 11).
Gianolla enters the upcoming season as the reigning ASUN Conference Freshman of the Year after averaging 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24 games during the 2016-17 campaign.

Agnus Berenato said. "She has put in a tremendous amount of work in an effort to improve her game and we are looking forward to her having a great sophomore season and helping us improve as a program."
Gianolla, who was also a unanimous pick to the ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team, finished in the top 10 of the conference in points per game (10th), rebounding (6th) and field goal percentage (9th). She led all ASUN Conference freshmen in scoring, produced 17 double-digit scoring games and reached double digits in rebounds six times. She recorded six double-doubles and led the Owls in scoring and rebounding seven times.
Florida Gulf Coast senior Rosemarie Julien was named the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year while Stetson senior Sarah Sagerer was tabbed preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Florida Gulf Coast, the defending ASUN Conference champion, led the league with three selections, while Jacksonville and Stetson each had two players recognized.
Following a 26-9 season that included an ASUN Conference tournament title a year ago, Florida Gulf Coast was picked as the preseason favorite. The Eagles received six of eight first-place votes while totaling 62 points to finish ahead of Jacksonville, which garnered two first-place votes and 53 points. Stetson (52 points) was picked third, while Kennesaw State was fourth with 39 points.
The Owls make their season debut Nov. 5 when they host Thomas University in exhibition at the KSU Convocation Center beginning at 2 p.m. KSU opens its season Nov. 10 at Clemson and hosts its home opener Nov. 30 against Georgia State.
