KENNESAW, Ga. --
The Kennesaw State men's and women's tennis teams are in action this weekend on the road, with the women battling Chattanooga tonight and the men facing local rival Georgia Gwinnett on Saturday afternoon.

The women (0-1) face a Chattanooga squad that is 2-1 on the young season. UTC has wins over Air Force and Austin Peay, but coming off a setback versus Tennessee last weekend. Friday night's match begins at 6 p.m. with live stats available. Kennesaw State opened its season last Sunday falling at Samford.

"The women have enjoyed a great week of practice," said Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon. "I feel like we're a better team now than we were this time last week and that's very encouraging. UTC is a well-establish team and very solid. Our girls are ready to compete and we expect nothing else that a great college dual match. We were just a few points away from making it a very competitive match last week and I think this time around the team is ready to capitalize on this week's opportunities."

The Owl men (0-1) also have a stiff test against a Georgia Gwinnett squad that is ranked No. 1 nationally at the NAIA level and has won three-consecutive national championships. The Owls are looking for their first win after falling at No. 11 Florida to open the season last Saturday.

"The team has been looking forward to playing this match ever since the schedule came out," said Rincon. "Overall, I think it's great to play another school from the metro Atlanta area, especially since they compete at such a high level. We hope to get as many Owl fans as possible on Saturday at 1 p.m. It should be a great day for tennis."
