A ceremony will be held Saturday (Oct. 8) morning to honor the 2016 class, and the inductees will be recognized during the KSU football game against Missouri S&T at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. KENNESAW, Ga. -Â The membership of the Kennesaw State Athletics Hall of Fame will grow by six following the induction of the 2016 Hall of Fame class on Saturday (Oct. 8).

The class of 2016 includes Spencer Askew (men's golf; 1996-2000), Kennesaw State benefactors Carl and Karen Hames, Terrence Hill (men's basketball; 2002-04), Mackenzie Howe (cross country and track & field; 2008-11) and Stan Sims (Head Coach: cross country; 1994-2010; Head Coach: track & field; 2006-10).

Askew, Hill and Howell are being inducted under the Former Student-Athlete/Professional Achievement category, while Carl and Karen Hames are being recognized for their Distinguished Service to Kennesaw State Athletics and Sims is being honored under the Coach or Administrator category.

Karen and Carl Hames, Distinguished Service to Kennesaw State
Over the years, Carl and Karen Hames have generously given of their time and resources to Kennesaw State Athletics. The Hames were among KSU Athletics' original financial benefactors. Â A former Kennesaw Junior College student, Carl became a successful banker and through his business, sponsored the Department of Athletics' initial annual fundraising golf tournaments at Big Canoe Resort. Karen's service to the Owl Family includes: Â administering The Big Canoe Tournament; helping initiate the Dot Martin Classic in 1994; and remains active in assisting KSU Athletics whenever called upon. Mr. and Mrs. Hames remain active members in KSU Athletics donor clubs.
