WG: Owls Card Season's Low Round in Second Round of Lady Paladin Invitational

Led by seniors Sverdloff and Estefenn Owls fire seven-over par 295

GREENVILLE, S.C. –
 After turning in the sixth lowest team round of the day, the Kennesaw State women's golf team jumped three spots and moved into 12th place following the second round at the 2016 Lady Paladin Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 24) at the par-72, 6,313-yard Furman University Golf Course.

"Today's round was more characteristic of this team's talent," Kennesaw State Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead said.  "We played good golf today and will continue to work on being more aggressive and tactical. We will reflect on today's round and evaluate what and how we can score event better. Dulcie and Laura posted solid rounds today. I'm excited to finish tomorrow work out best round and move up the leaderboard. "We posted one of the best team scores today and demonstrated we can compete."
 
The Owls posted their lowest round of the season with a seven-over par score of 295 and sit at 22-over par with a two-round total of 598.
 
Sophomore Charlotte Charrayre leads the Owls individually, sitting in a tie for 42nd with a four-over par total of 148 after draining two birdies and 12 pars for a three-over par 75 in her second round. Junior Laura Estefenn registered season-low round of the year with a one-over par 73 with four birdies on the day and is tied for 47th with a five-over total of 149.
 
Senior  Dulcie Sverdloff fired the Owls low round of the day with an even-par round of 72. Sverdloff is tied for 49th with a 13-over par total of 157. Sophomore Medy Thavong carded a three-over round of 75 and is tied for 56th with a total of seven-over par 151. Rounding out the Owls was junior Henriette Nielsen with a four-over par 76 and is tied for 82nd  with an 12-over par score of 156.
  
Furman and Texas share  the 36-hole lead in the 20-team event with seven-under par total of 569. Furman's Alice Chen leads all individuals with a five-under par two-round total of 139 after carding a three-under par score of 69 on Saturday.   
 
The Owls will finish play at the Lady Paladin Invitational with the third and final round on Sunday (Sept. 25) with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. ET off numbers one and 10. Live scoring for the third round is available HERE.
