COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Three players carded sub-par rounds to key a third-round rally as the No. 30 Kennesaw State men's golf team placed second at the FAMC Intercollegiate at The Grove that concluded Tuesday (Sept. 20) at the par-72, 7,368-yard The Grove Club in College Grove, Tenn.

Led by junior Wyatt Larkin's 3-under par 69, Kennesaw State recorded a final-round 4-under par 284 to conclude the 36-hole event at 10-over par 874 and finish six shots behind Ole Miss, which captured the tournament title with a 4-over par 868.

"Today, we not only had the best of day by six shots, but the best team round of the tournament," head coach Bryant Odom said. "I could not be happier for the guys' effort this week as they improved each day.

"We beat some very good teams this week on a golf course that will host an NCAA Regional in the spring," Odom added. "This gives us a lot of momentum heading into an off week before our next event."

The 14-team field included five teams – Georgia (No. 6), Louisville (No. 37), Memphis (No. 38), North Carolina State (No. 40), and Kennesaw State (No. 45). – which concluded the 2015-16 season in Golfstat's Top 50 final rankings.

Following his first career top-10 showing a week ago at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, Larkin tied for fourth with an even-par total of 216, five shots behind Ole Miss' Braden Thornberry, who claimed individual medalist honors with a 5-under par 211.

Freshman Connor Coffee turned in a closing-round 2-under par 70 to finish at 2-over par 218 and tie for ninth. Senior Teremoana Beaucousin shot a 1-under par 71 to conclude play at 4-over par 220 and tie for 13th.

"Wyatt backed up his top-10 finish at The Farm with a top-five showing this week, and Connor recorded his first career top 10," Odom said. "As a freshman, this is a big confidence builder for Connor."

Sophomore Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres (226, +10) and senior Christopher Guglielmo (228, +12) tied for 45th and 54th, respectively.

Kennesaw State returns to action in two weeks when it opens play at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. The tournament will be held Oct. 3-4.
