COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Led by senior
Christopher Guglielmo, the No. 30 Kennesaw State men's golf team carded a 2-over par 290 on Monday to move up three spots in the standings and into a tie for eighth place at the 14-team FAMC Intercollegiate at The Grove in College Grove, Tenn.
The Owls improved 10 strokes from their opening round and have a 36-hole total of 14-over par 590. Kennesaw State, which produced the third-lowest round on Monday, currently sits 12 shots behind Ole Miss, which leads the field with a 2-over par total of 578. The Rebels hold a two-shot advantage over College of Charleston (580) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Guglielmo produced a 1-under par 71 and sits in a tie, along with junior teammate
Wyatt Larkin (73-74), for 18th place at 3-over par 147, seven shots behind Braden Thornberry of Ole Miss. Thornberry, who is at 3-under 140, holds a one-stroke lead of William Rainey (141, -2) of College of Charleston.
"I am proud of the team effort today as we finished strong and posted the third-lowest round of the day," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "The leaderboard is still very bunched and another good round will send us into a high finish. We hope to have our best round on the final day."
Freshman Connor Coffey (148, +4) recorded an even-par 72 and is tied for 28th, while senior
Teremoana Beaucousin (149, +5) and sophomore
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres (152, +8) are tied for 35th and 57th, respectively.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with final-round action at the par-72, 7,368-yard The Grove Club getting underway at 8:30 a.m. (ET). Kennesaw State is paired with Georgia and will tee off beginning at 11:03 a.m. (ET) from the first tee. All the action can be followed live at
