ROCKY FACE, Ga. – The No. 30 Kennesaw State men's golf team wrapped up play with a 3-over par 867 to place eighth at the Carpet Capital Collegiate that concluded Sunday at the par-72, 7,012-yard The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga.

Junior
Wyatt Larkin carded a final-round 2-under par 70 to lead the Owls to a third-round total of 1-over par 289. KSU posted rounds of 287-291-289 during its season-opening tournament.

Larkin paced Kennesaw State over the three days, recording rounds of 72-67-70 for a 7-under par total of 209 to tie for ninth. His 54-hole score and ninth-place showing are career bests.

Fourteenth-ranked Virginia captured the team title with a 31-under par score of 833 to register a six shot victory over No. 15 Auburn (839, -5).

The 14-team Carpet Capital Collegiate field included 12 teams ranked in the final 2015-16 Golfstat rankings.

Senior
Christopher Guglielmo finished with a 1-over par 73 to conclude play with at 1-over par 217 to tie for 27th, one shot ahead of sophomore teammate
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres, who tied for 30th at 2-over par 218. Sophomore
Jake Fendt (223, +7) and freshman
Connor Coffee (227, +11), tied for 53rd and 64th, respectively.

Georgia Tech's Luke Schniederjans, claimed individual medalist honors with an 11-under par 205 total, finishing one shot ahead of North Florida's Phillip Knowles, Virginia's Derek Bard and Ryan Benton of Auburn. All three players concluded play at 10-under par 206.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 18) when it opens play in The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove hosted by Middle Tennessee in College Grove, Tenn.
