ROCKY FACE, Ga. – Led by junior
Wyatt Larkin, the No. 30 Kennesaw State men's golf team moved up two places in the team standings following Saturday's second-round play at the 14-team Carpet Capital Collegiate that is being held at the par-72, 7,012-yard The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga.
The Owls turned in a 3-over par 291 and are tied with South Carolina for eighth place with a 2-over par 36-hole total of 578. Fourteenth-ranked Virginia, which shared the first-round lead, is in sole possession of first place with a 23-under par total of 553. The Cavaliers have a three shot lead over No. 15 Auburn (556, -20).
Larkin paced Kennesaw State, carding a career-best tying round of 5-under par 67, and is tied for seventh with a 5-under par total of 139. Auburn's Ryan Benton and Luke Schniederjans of Georgia Tech share the individual lead with 9-under par scores of 135.
Senior
Christopher Guglielmo, who was tied for third after the first round, is tied for 26th after shooting a 4-over par 76 and has a 36-hole total of even-par 144. Sophomores
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres (147, +3) and
Jake Fendt (148, +4) are tied for 37th.
Freshman
Connor Coffee, playing in his first collegiate tournament, is tied for 56th with a 6-over par score of 150.
Final-round action gets underway on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. (ET). Kennesaw State will be grouped with Tennessee and South Carolina and will tee off on Hole No. 1. All the action can be followed live at
