Sunset, S.C.- The trio of
Clara Aveling,
Dulcie Sverdloff, and
Medy Thavong led the Kennesaw State women's golf team on day one of the inaugural Clemson Invitational at the Reserve at Lake Keowee.
As a team, the Owls carded an opening round score of 15-over par 303.
"The results don't reflect the quality of play the team showed
today," Head Coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "We made a good amount of birdies but unfortunately those were offset by some mistakes on the course that cost us dearly. We have to be more committed to our execution of shots and make smart decisions. With the doubles that we counted
today it's hard to compete but I know we can remove those and post a great score
tomorrow."
Aveling, Sverdloff, and Thavong, all fired opening rounds of three-over par 75 to find themselves tied for 45
th after day one.
Laura Estefenn shot an opening round 6-over par 78 and is tied for 67

Freshman
Charlotte Charrayre posted and opening round 79 is tied for 71
