Clara Aveling, the Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in eighth-place after day one of the Henssler Intercollegiate. The tournament begin Monday with 36 holes at Pinetree Country Club.
"Our play
today did not go as planned," Coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "It's disappointing to know this course like the back of our hands and still struggle. I think we had such high expectations that we placed too much pressure on ourselves. I know we can redeem ourselves
tomorrow with a solid round."
Estefenn, continued her strong play from a week ago with rounds of 73 and 78 to finish tied for 13
th with a score of 151 (+7) heading in to the final round. After struggling with opening round 77, Aveling came back and fired a three-over par 75 in the afternoon round to finish with a total of 8-over par (152) and is tied for 17
th.
Charlotte Charrayre (158),
Dulcie Sverdloff (162) and
Henriette Nielsen (168), who is playing in her first tournament since the fall, closed out the scoring on day one for the Owls.
Kennesaw State returns to action March 29 for the final round of the Henssler Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club. A shotgun start is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. (ET) .
