Schedule Social Media: Twitter | Facebook Season Statistics Tennis PreviewThe Kennesaw State men's tennis squad will continue its homestand with a non-conference dual match against Georgia Southern on Wednesday afternoon. The match will be played at Dr. Betty Siegel Student Center, and is scheduled to begin at noon (12 p.m.)
The SeriesKennesaw State will enter the dual match with a 1-2 mark against the Eagles in program history. The first match was in 2010-11 in a 7-0 loss, but responded with a 6-1 road win in 2011-12. Georgia Southern took the last meeting, 6-1, in 2012-13.
The Last Time OutThe Kennesaw State men's tennis team claimed Sunday's doubles point, but visiting Louisiana rallied for a 4-2 victory in a tightly-contested match at the Siegel Student Center Courts on the KSU campus.
The Owls (8-3) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after posting the doubles point in dramatic fashion. The visitors drew first blood by winning the No. 3 doubles match 6-3, but KSU's No. 1 pairing of
David Durham and
Drew Wendel evened things with a 6-3 victory.
It all came down to the Owls' No. 2 tandem of
Simon Pritchard and
Jorge Wilton, who pulled even at 6-6 versus Coleman Wahlborg and Vlad Kramarov and then won convincingly 7-1 in the tiebreaker to stake claim on the all important doubles point.
Next UpThe Owls will welcome continue their five-match homestand with a non-conference dual match set with South Carolina State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
