Final Results
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team wrapped up play at the Amelia Island Collegiate finishing in a tie for third place.
The Owls posted a 13-over par 301 in the final round to close out the tournament with a three day total of 31- over par 895, to tie with Campbell and finished 16 shots behind North Florida, who finished the tournament with a total score of 15-over par 879.
"Individually we had some very solid play today," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "We are struggling with depth in the lineup, but that is a quick fix as we have plenty of talent 1-5. Given we didn't play our best golf and third place finish is commendable. We have two weeks of practice before our next event, we will use this time effectively. I am very confident in this roster and I know we will continue to perform better in each event."
Freshman
Charlotte Charrayre and
Clara Aveling led the way for the Owls both finishing tied for 14
th place. Charraryre fired a final round two-over par 74 to finish with a total of six-over par 222. Aveling recorded a four-over par 76 to join Charrarye at six-over par 222.
Freshman
Medy Thavong carded the Owls low round of the day with an even-par 72 to finish the tournament at nine-over par 225 and tied for 22
nd.
Juniors
Dulcie Sverdloff and
Laura Estefenn struggled in the final round shooting 7-over par 79s in the final round. Sverdloff finished tied for 44
th with a total of 14-over par 230 and Estefenn finished with a total of 17-over par 233.
Sophomore
Henriette Nielsen, who is competing as an individual, finished tied for 86th after a final round 86.
Kennesaw State returns to action at the 3M Augusta Invitational at Forrest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia March, 11-13.
