Iceis Walker contributed 10 points apiece to lead Kennesaw State during a 68-49 loss to Austin Peay Wednesday (Dec. 14) in Clarksville, Tenn.

The Owls (1-7) were able to keep the game close until the Governors (6-5) went on a 13-2 run to open the fourth quarter and build a 56-40 lead with 5:46 remaining.

The game, the 1,000th in Kennesaw State program history, marked the return of Gianolla who was back in action after suffering an injury in the November 11 season opener at Vanderbilt that forced her to miss six games.

The Owls led 15-14 after the first quarter before being outscored 18-11Â in the second quarter and trailed 32-26 at halftime.

Austin Peay center Tearra Banks scored a game-high 26 points, while Beth Rates (14) and Brianne Alexander (12) finished in double figures for the Governors.

Austin Peay capitalized on a strong inside game as it outscored Kennesaw State, 48-26, in the paint, and finished with a 46-30 rebounding advantage.

The Owls managed to shoot 35.6 percent (20-for-57) from the field, while the Governors connected on 46 percent (28-for-61) of their field goal attempts.
