FINAL RESULTS
STATESBORO, Ga. – David Durham reached the semifinals of the Singles Draw, while
Jake Bouchillon and
Drew Lahey advanced to the finals of the Doubles Draw to highlight the Kennesaw State men's tennis team at the Georgia Southern Championship this weekend.

Durham finished the weekend with a 3-1 singles record, reaching the semifinals before being ousted by Santiago Suarez of Georgia Southern in a three-set match (5-7, 6-2, 6-2).

"We had a good tournament, played a lot of matches and that's what we came here to do," said Director of Tennis
Eduardo Rincon. "It's clear that improvement was made throughout the weekend. David (Durham) had a great tournament making it all the way to the semifinals. David won three very competitive matches and showed, once again, why he's one of our team leaders."

Durham opened his tournament with a three-set win over the Eagles' Chris Kerrigan (6-1, 4-6, 6-1), before a pair of straight-set wins over two from the College of Charleston -- Benedikt Henning (6-4, 6-3) and Jake Kusmider (6-1, 6-4).

Lucas de Torres Curth also picked up a victory in singles action, knocking off Daiki Naka from SCAD (6-4, 5-7, 6-3), before falling to Murphy McCullough of Georgia Southern in another back-and-fourth three-set affair (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)).

In doubles action, Bouchillon and Lahey recorded three victories to reach Sunday's championship match. The Owls duo knocked off Kusmider and Kusmider from Charleston (8-7), then dispatched Amari and Casablancas from Georgia Southern (8-4) before an 8-1 victory over Vitek and Figura from South Carolina State.

Sunday's championship match saw Goldberg and Deshmukh from North Florida win an 8-6 thriller.

"Jake and Drew had another great tournament making to the finals," said Rincon. "The final match was played and a very high level and they just fell short."

Two other doubles teams for Kennesaw State picked up victories as de Torres Curth and
Harrison Wood defeated Kerrigan and Finkelstein from Georgia Southern (8-7). They were downed in the second round by Henning and Thomas from the College of Charleston (8-5).

Durham paired with
Miller Durham and the duo knocked off the Georgia Southern's Pelavin and Brown (8-5), before falling to SCSU's Vitek and Figura (8-4).

Kennesaw State has completed the fall portion of its schedule and won't return to competitive action until the spring season begins in January.
