Kiawah Island, S.C. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in seventh place after the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday (Oct. 24) at the par-72, 5,972-yard Turtle Point Golf Course.
"We had an interesting day on the course," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "298 is a solid score, but unfortunately we had some mental lapses that cost us. With that said I'm very proud of our grit today. We didn't give up after tough holes and that tenacity ensured we recorded a solid team score."
The Owls posted a second round 10-over par 298 to sit in seventh place headed into the final round. Coastal Carolina shot a 3-under par 285 in the second round and leads by six shots.
Medy Thavong carded a 1-over par 73 with five birdies and eight pars, while
Henriette Nielsen fired a 3-over par 75 as both are tied for 19th with a two-round total of 4-over par 148.
Dulcie Sverdloff recorded a 79 in the second round and is tied for 37th with a 7-over par total of 151.
Charlotte Charrayre and
Laura Estefenn , both shot 3-over par rounds of 75 and are tied for tied for 62nd with 10-over par totals of 154.
