Kiawah Island, SC. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team continued their strong play as they returned to action at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Sunday (Oct. 23). The team sits tied for fourth place after the first round at the par-72, 5,972-yard Turtle Point Golf Course.

Rhyll Brinsmead said. I'm so proud of their tenacity and ability to score under pressure. We've positioned ourselves well in relation to the field. Tomorrow we will be looking to cut out the doubles that cost us today and execute sharply. I'm very confident in this lineup, 1-5 and I'm excited to watch them compete again tomorrow and move up the leaderboard."
The Owls registered an opening round 11-over par 299 to tie them with College of Charleston for fourth place. Ole Miss shot a 2-over par 290 to grab the team lead after round one.
Dulcie Sverdloff opened with a round of even par 72 to lead the Owls and is currently tied for fifth. Monica San Juan, of Chattanooga and Madisen Bentley of Ole Miss, both shot two-under par 70s to tie for the individual lead after round one.
Henriette Nielsen carded a 1-over par 73 and is tied for ninth, while
Medy Thavong fired a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 25
th.
Charlotte Charrayre and Laura Estefenn posted opening round seven-over par 79s and are tied for tied for 61st.
