WBB: Owls Look To Wrap-Up Florida Trip Against Jacksonville

The Owls will try for a weekend sweep against the Dolphins

A LOOK AT THE MATCHUP …
The Kennesaw State women's basketball program took game one of its Florida road trip with a 70-55 victory over North Florida Saturday night, and now will turn its attention towards A-Sun foe Jacksonville Monday evening. The tilt will be broadcasted on ESPN3 and tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium as both teams will look to stay unbeaten in league play.

16 – Aareon Smith scored 16 of her 18 points in the first half against Xavier - which was 37% of the Owls' points in the half. 
20 – Kelly Dulkoski poured in a career-high 20 points vs Mercer. 
55 – Aareon Smith's free throw gave KSU its 55th point Saturday, the game-winning point.
70 – The Owls won their 70th game at the KSU Convocation Center all-time vs. New Orleans at the Thanksgiving Classic.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE...
- Jacksonville was founded in 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida and currently has an enrollment of 3,936 students.
- Jacksonville's nickname is the Dolphins and compete at the Swisher Gymnasium (1,500) and its colors are Green and Gold.
- Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is currently in her third season at the program, and holds a 34-44 overall record entering the weekend.
- McPhee-McCuin is assisted by Camille Collier, Darnell Haney and Ed Mahan.
- The Dolphins' first season of basketball was the 1999-00 season and holds a 179-266 (.401) all-time record in 16 seasons.
- Jacksonville's record was 12-17 overall and 6-8 in the A-Sun a season ago, and will return five letterwinners and two starters.
- Sherranda Reddick entered the weekend leading the team with 12.3 points per game, just ahead of Briona Brown's 12.2.
- In all, four Dolphin players are averaging double-figure numbers in the scoring column, with Kayla Gordon (10.8) and Christin Mercer (10.6) adding to Reddick's and Brown's numbers.
- As a team, JU is averaging 65.8 points per game, 40.3 rebounds per game and 12.3 assists per game.

- Aareon Smith's 23 points tied her career-high against Lipscomb and propelled her to A-Sun Co-Player of the Week honors for the first time in her KSU career.
- The Owls can move to 2-0 in league play for only the second time since joining the A-Sun with a win this Saturday. KSU went 2-0 to start last year's league slate.
- Collectively the Owls are shooting 30.5 percent from behind the arc, which ranks third best in the A-Sun. Smith and Dulkoski are shooting over 34 percent.
- The Owls will look for their first road win of the 2015-16 season when they travel to the River City this weekend to face UNF and Jacksonville next.
- Guards Karly Frye (1.9), Clara Young (1.3) and Kelly Dulkoski (1.1) all post an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.0 or better, which ranks among top-20 in league.
- Kennesaw State is scoring 57.6 points per game on the road this year, compared to 61.9 PPG at home. The Owls also dish out 3.4 assists less on the road.
