MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team opened its 2016 dual match schedule on Saturday (Jan. 16) and came up on the short end of a 5-2 score to Middle Tennessee at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
 
Senior 
Isabela Castro accounted for the Owls' lone victory as she awarded a win at No. 4 singles when her opponent, Giulia Squadrin, was forced to retire with first set tied, 6-6.
 
Kennesaw State (0-1) also recorded a win at No. 6 singles when Middle Tennessee (2-0) was forced to forfeit the point when it did not have enough players.
 
The Owls continue their season-opening eight match road trip on Feb. 24 when they travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to face Austin Peay. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. (ET).
