Dot Martin BrochureKENNESAW, Ga. -- The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics will host the 22nd annual Dot Martin Scholarship Golf Classic on Monday,
May 9 at the Marietta Country Club. The Dot Martin Scholarship Golf Classic is the largest annual fundraising event for Kennesaw State Athletics, generating over $500,000 in the past nine years benefiting student-athlete scholarships.
Currently, KSU sponsors 18 NCAA Division I programs and has more than 350 student-athletes that compete in the Atlantic
Sun Conference and the Big South Conference.
The tournament is set up as a four-person scramble with a 27-hole, majestic setting of the Marietta Country Club. The golf course offers three, nine hole courses and will hold various competitions and prizes for participants.
The tournament competitions include closest to the pin, longest drive and low scores – net and gross — for the teams. Each participant will receive two meals, along with 18 holes of golf and unlimited range balls. The tournament will also feature the Owls Store where each participant can redeem Owl Bucks for golf equipment, apparel, and exclusive Adidas -Taylor Made gear.
This tournament became possible with the help of long-time athletics supporter, Dorothy "Dot" Martin, who became involved with Kennesaw State in 1990. Martin helped immensely with the tournament, from tournament planning to registration. Dot also contributed to Kennesaw State by co-founding the KSU Scholarship Golf Classic in
April 1995.
The daylong event begins with an 8 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. skills competition and 10 a.m. shotgun start.
