FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team opened its 2015-16 season at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday (Sept. 14) and is tied for 14th after the first and second rounds at the par-72, 6,295-yard Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.
 
The Owls registered rounds of 307-305 for a 36-over par total of 612, with juniors Dulcie Sverdloff and Laura Estefenn and freshman Charlotte Charrayre pacing KSU with an eight-over par total of 152 to sit in a tie for 51st.
 
Sverdloff and Estefenn, back for their third season in the Black and Gold, recorded identical scores of 76-76 in their opening two rounds, while Charrayre turned in rounds of 77-75 in her first collegiate action.
 
Freshman Clara Aveling debuted for KSU with rounds of 78-81 and is tied for 80th at 15-over par. Rounding out the Owls was freshman Medy Thavong, who carded rounds of 83-78 in her first collegiate outing and is tied for 85th at 17-over par.
 
Long Beach State leads the 17-team event with a 36-hole total of 578 (+2) after firing rounds of 291-287, while Northern Colorado's Amanda Myers leads all individuals with a three-under par total of 141 after rounds of 70-71.
 
The Owls will wrap up their season-opening tournament with the third and final round on Tuesday (Sept. 15) with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. ET. Live scoring for the final round is available HERE.
