SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Kennesaw State women's golf team concluded an historic season on Saturday (May 9) as the Owls finished 14th in the NCAA San Antonio Regional with a 34-over par tournament total of 898 in the program's second-ever NCAA Regional appearance at the par-72, 6,350-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club.

"It was a bittersweet day," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "It wraps up a great year, but in doing so we have to say goodbye to two of my favorite players ever, which is Kaew and Ines. Overall, we had some real highlights today. Ines had a solid day and a really good tournament. She could not get the birdies to fall again and went 36 holes without a birdie, but had 34-straight pars. We again had some good play and Laura shooting 72 today was great. Kaew struggled down the stretch, but played 16 good holes, so another fun day and overall just a great experience."

Following a close-to three-hour delay due to lightning to start the final day of competition, the Owls took the course just after 11 a.m., and wrapped up their third round with an 11-over par total of 299, with senior Ines Lescudier leading the team for the third-straight round.

The Marseille, France native registered a one-over par 73 in her final collegiate round after carding pars on 17 of 18 holes and finished in a tie for 40th with a three-over score of 219 to end her career.

Sophomore Laura Estefenn jumped 11 spots and tied for 64th with an eight-over par score of 224 after an even-par 72, including a pair of birdies, in her final round. Classmate Dulcie Sverdloff finished three strokes off of Estefenn in a tie for 71st after carding a six-over par 78 on Saturday for an 11-over par total of 227 for the three-day tournament.

Senior Kaew Preamchuen wrapped her KSU career with a four-over par 76 in her final round and tied for 80th with a 16-over par total of 231 in her final tournament as an Owl.

Freshman Henriette Nielsen concluded her first season in the Black and Gold with a six-over par score of 78 in her final round and finished in a tie for 88th with a 21-over par total of 237.

No. 21 Baylor took home the team championship with a 22-under par total of 842 after firing a seven-under par 281 in its final round, with No. 3 UCLA finishing three strokes off the pace with a 19-under par score of 845. No. 14 Tennessee and No. 11 Texas A&M finished in third and fourth with totals of 14-under par 850 and 10-under par 854, respectively. No. 6 Washington and No. 37 Texas Tech tied for fifth with a two-under par total of 862 to take the fifth and sixth final spots advancing to the NCAA National Championships on May 22-27 in Bradenton, Fla.

The Bears' Hayley Davis went wire-to-wire to claim medalist honors after turning in a seven-under par score of 65 in her final round and finished the tournament with a 16-under par total of 200.
