SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Senior Ines Lescudier led the Kennesaw State women's golf team as the Owls opened the NCAA San Antonio Regional with a 10-over par 298 and sit in 13th place following Thursday's (May 7) first round at the par-72, 6,350-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
 
Lescudier connected on four birdies en route to an even-par 72 and is in a tie for 33rd following her opening round.
 
Sophomores Dulcie Sverdloff and Laura Estefenn each carded a three-over par 75 and are tied for 56th, while senior Kaew Preamchuen is one stroke off in a tie for 70th after firing a four-over par 76. Freshman Henriette Nielsen rounded out the Owls with an 11-over par 83 in her opening round.
 
No. 14 Tennessee holds the first round lead after posting a 12-under par total of 276, with No. 3 UCLA just behind the Vols with a 10-under par score of 278. No. 21 Baylor sits in third place with an eight-under par total of 280, while No. 6 Washington and No. 11 Texas A&M are tied for fifth with a seven-under par score of 281. No. 43 Texas rounds out the top six with a one-under par 287 on Thursday.
 
Yupaporn Kawinpakorn of Kansas and Baylor's Hayley Davis hold the individual lead after turning in a five-under par 67 in the first round.
 
Second round action at the NCAA San Antonio Regional continues tomorrow, Friday, May 8 with KSU's tee times beginning at 9:24 a.m. ET off of the No. 10 tee. Live scoring for the second round will be available HERE.
