WT: Owls Hit the Road to Compete in the A-Sun Postseason Tournament

KSU Clinched a Tournament Berth After Knocking Off Upstate

KENNESAW, Ga. –The Kennesaw State women's tennis team makes its way into the Atlantic Sun Tournament for the fifth time since the women's tennis program was instituted at the Division I level and joined the A-Sun Conference in 2008-09.
 
KSU will face Florida Gulf Coast on Friday (Apr. 17) at 9 a.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla.
 
The Black and Gold earned its spot in the postseason tournament by beating USC Upstate on the road, placing KSU No. 6 overall in the A-Sun Conference. The top six teams at the end of the regular season make it to the conference tournament.
 
 
Latest Action
KSU comes into this weekend after a 5-2 victory to close out its regular season against USC Upstate on the road. The Owls claimed the doubles point and proceeded to earn victories at the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions to take home the win over the Spartans.
 
 
FGCU
 
Florida Gulf Coast, led by head coach Courtney Vernon, ended the regular season with an 8-11 overall record and a 4-2 record in conference. The Eagles earned wins over Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky, USC Upstate Kennesaw State to make their way into the postseason with a No. 3 overall standing in the A-Sun.
 
The last time KSU met FGCU, the Black and Gold fell 6-1 in the contest on (Mar. 19) at Fair Oaks Park.
 
 
FGCU comes into Friday's match after losing 4-2 to Stetson on Saturday (Apr. 11) in Deland, Fla.
