KENNESAW, Ga. –The Kennesaw State men's tennis team earns a spot in the Atlantic Sun Tournament for the first time since the men's tennis program was instituted at the Division I level and joined the A-Sun Conference in 2008-09.

KSU will face Stetson on Friday (Apr. 17) at 5 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Owls claimed a postseason berth by knocking off Northern Kentucky and Lipscomb, moving KSU to a No. 5 overall ranking in the A-Sun Conference. The top six teams make it to the conference tournament at the close of the regular season.

Latest ActionKSU ended its regular season on Saturday against USC Upstate on the road. The Owls came up short in a 5-2 loss against the Spartans. Although the Black and Gold collected points at the No. 2 and No. 6 positions in singles, it was not enough to hold off Upstate who clinched the doubles point early and collected four points during singles play.Â

Stetson, led by head coach Pierre Pilote, finished the regular season with an 11-9 on the dual-match season and a 3-3 record in conference. The Hatters claimed victories over Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky and Kennesaw State to earn themselves a ticket into the postseason.

The last time KSU met Stetson, the Hatters claimed the match with a 4-2 victory on (Mar. 21) at Fair Oaks Park.Â

Stetson comes into Friday's match after taking a 5-2 setback to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday (April. 11) in Deland, Fla. Â
