ROUND THREE RESULTS (PDF) | PHOTO GALLERY KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team finished second with a 28-over par total of 316 in its head-to-head tournament with Columbia on Tuesday (March 17) at the par-72, 6,128-yard Pinetree Country Club.
The Lions turned in a 27-over par total of 315 to take first place in the two-team tournament.
"This is one of the most disappointing rounds I have seen from such a talented group in the last four years of coaching," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "To take a loss on our home course is discouraging, particularly coming off such a high of last weekend. There are no excuses for the result or the play or decision making, but as golf goes, one day you are on, one day you are off. We will regroup tomorrow and start fresh. I told the team this was a low point in our season, but sometimes you need low points to regroup and that is what we will do. We will come back at it tomorrow and get after it."
Senior
Ines Lescudier shared medalist honors with CU's Rachel Shi after firing a five-over par 77, while sophomore
Laura Estefenn and freshman
Henriette Nielsen tied for third with a six-over par 78 on Tuesday.
Rounding out the Owls were senior
Kaew Preamchuen and sophomore
Dulcie Sverdloff, who tied for eighth with an 11-over par 83, while seniors
Mette Kryger Pedersen and
Hayley Clinning each played as individuals with Pedersen posting a 13-over par 85 and Clinning shooting a 20-over par 92 in their rounds.
The Owls next travel to Ponte Verde Beach, Fla., for the Web.com Intercollegiate, hosted by Jacksonville at the Marsh Landing Country Club on March 30-31.
