Ines Lescudier and
Kaew Preamchuen led the Kennesaw State women's golf team on Saturday (March 14) as the Owls registered a four-over par 288 and sit just five strokes off the lead in third place with a 16-over par total of 584 following 36 holes at the 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate, hosted by GRU Augusta at the par-71, 6,085-yard Forest Hills Golf Club.
"We played well today and the course was wet, but score-able," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "We capitalized on some great shots and made smart decisions. To go lower we need to be more aggressive with our putting, which will be a goal for tomorrow. I am very happy for Kaew as she played solid golf today and Ines was clutch again. It is always fun to be in contention on the last day and I am excited to watch the team compete."
Lescudier is just four strokes out of individual medalist honors after carding an even-par 71 in a second round that saw the senior connect on four birdies, including three on her final nine holes. The Marseille, France native is tied for third with a one-under par total of 141. Joining her in the top 10 is Preamchuen, who paced the Owls on Saturday with a one-under par 70 after recording two birdies and 15 pars in her round and is ninth with a two-over par total of 144.
