KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior Virginie Stein posts the first singles win of the season for the Kennesaw State women's tennis team in its 6-1 loss to UAB Sunday (Feb. 1) at the Samford Tennis Complex.

Seniors Virginie Stein and Jana Hueckinghaus opened the match with a 7-5 win over Pardis Kianoush and Paula Castro in the first set of doubles play.

Stein remained victorious in singles play, posting the Owls' first singles win for the 2015 season, in a 6-2, 7-6 win over Rachel Daniell.

Freshman Cristina Martin battled Amy Lowther in a tough tiebreaker match. Martin finished the first set with a 4-6 win over Lowther, but came up short in sets three and four.

The Owls move to 0-3 on the season and will be back in action Friday Feb. 13 to take on Armstrong Atlantic at 2 p.m. ET in Savannah, Ga.
