Kiawah Island, SC. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team battled through strong winds and rain at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday (Oct. 26). The team sits in fifth place after the second round at the par-72, 5,972-yard Turtle Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, SC.
 
The Owls registered a  17-over par 305, on a day in which all 20 team finished over par, to put them in fifth place. Furman shot a 1-over par 289 to grab the team lead over Campbell by one shot after round two.

Dulcie Sverdloff led the Owls on day two, finishing with two birdies on her last nine holes to shoot a one-over par 73 to remain tied for third.

Freshman Charlotte Charrayre fired a four-over par 76 and is tied for 27th. Medy Thavong struggled on day two, posting 10-over par 82  and is tied for 44th.  Clara Aveling shot a seven-over par 79 and is tied for 52^nd.  Laura Estefenn fired a five-over par 77 and sits tied for 67^th.
 
The third and final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning (Oct.26).  Live scoring for the third round is available HERE.

"The conditions today were some of toughest we have ever played in since I have been here. The wind was swirling and rain added to the difficulty. I'm proud of the way the team fought today, although we made some uncharacteristic mistakes and wasted shots on the greens. Dulcie was solid today and has put herself in great position headed into the final round. A solid round is crucial tomorrow to earn a top 3 finish."
