KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team comes up short in a 7-0 loss to Samford Saturday Jan. 31 at the Samford Tennis Complex.

In their first match of a two-match weekend, the Owls (0-2) were swept in singles and doubles play to No. 71 ranked (ITA) Samford.

Virginie Stein put up a good effort against Stephanie N'tcha at No. 1 to send her match into a tiebreaker set. Stein opened up the match with a 6-4 win over N'tcha, but came up short in the second and third sets.

"We did good job of competing and managing the controllable aspects of the match today," said head coach
Jeff Kutac. "I am looking forward to the next match against UAB."

Kennesaw State will return to action to complete their two-match weekend against UAB on Sunday Feb. 1 at 12 p.m. ET. The match will take place at the Samford Tennis Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
