KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team will head to Statesboro, Ga., to open up their dual-match season against in-state rival Georgia Southern on Saturday (Jan.24). The match is set to start at 12 p.m. ET in the Hanner Tennis Complex.
"We are looking forward to the match this weekend," said head coach
Eduardo Rincon. "Our team is focused and ready to start competing."
Saturday's match will mark the start of a 19-game dual-match season for the Owls.
Kennesaw State is coming off an overall record of (8-11) from last year's dual-match season, where they finished (2-6) in conference play.
KSU will return seven players from last year's roster, including Atlantic Sun All-Conference and All-Freshman Team member, sophomore
Simon Pritchard.
The Owls are going up against a Georgia Southern team who finished last season with an overall record of (5-18) and has a current record of (0-1) to start this season, after a 1-6 loss to Georgia Tech.
"Georgia Southern has a good tennis program," added Rincon. "Their players play hard but we are ready to compete. We are excited to go and I expect it to be a battle."
