HighlightsROCKY FACE, Ga. – Kennesaw State carded an even-par round of 288 during second-round play at the Carpet Capital Collegiate and is currently locked in a five-way tie for first place after 36-holes at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga.
Sophomore
Teremoana Beaucousin shot a 3-under par 69 lead the Owls on Saturday and tied for 24th through two rounds with an even-par score of 144. Senior
Austin Vick shot an even-par 72 and is tied for ninth place with seven other players, including senior teammate
Jimmy Beck, a 3-under par total of 141, five shots behind Georgia Tech's Ollie Schneiderjans, who fired an 8-under par 64 and holds a one-shot advantage over Alabama's Robbie Shelton.
The Owls currently stand at 7-under par 569 and are tied with Auburn, Alabama, LSU and Georgia Tech. Auburn posted the low team score of the day, posting a 13-under par 275, while Georgia Tech recorded a 12-under par 276.
"We got off to another good start and making the turn we had some guys playing well and everyone seemed to be doing really well," Kennesaw State head coach
Jay Moseley said. "At the turn we made a charge through 10, 11 and 12, the guys were playing well and I think we stretched it out to a four or five-shot lead and then we just made some uncharacteristic mistakes coming down the stretch.
Senior
Kelby Burton turned in a 2-over par total of 74 and is tied for 20th at 1-under par 143. Freshman
Fredrik Nilehn, who is making his collegiate debut this weekend, carded a 6-over 78 and is tied for 69th at 10-over par 154.
"There is nothing we can really do about it now so we are just going to focus on what tomorrow (Sunday) holds and be ready for that first tee shot first thing in the morning," Moseley added.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with Kennesaw State scheduled to tee off at 8:15 a.m. and grouped with Clemson and Georgia Tech. All the action can be followed live on the Internet at
