KENNESAW, Ga. – Former Kennesaw State women's basketball standout Denisha Davidson (Ferguson) will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame on October 11, after an All-American career led the Owls to success on the national scene.

"Being selected as an inductee for this year's Hall of Fame is an amazing honor and feeling," said Davidson. "I'm so grateful for the selection committee and the athletic department. The thought of being selected for such a prestigious honor has always been a dream but knowing now that it's becoming a reality is just a great overwhelming feeling and a true blessing.

"I truly enjoyed playing at KSU and representing the University on and off the floor with my teammates and under Head Coach Colby Tilley. I know without his guidance and my teammates this honor would not have been possible. I'm very excited, and I look forward to the weekend of events and reuniting with the Kennesaw State University family."

Davidson, who played from 2001-04 at KSU, was a First Team Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Daktronics Division II All-American during her senior season, earning her Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year accolades as well.

A 3-time All-Conference honoree, Davidson concluded her career ranked No. 1 in the school record books in rebounds per game, averaging nearly 10 per outing.

Davidson also ranks at No. 3 all-time in school history in career points with 1,583 and career rebounds with 844. Her 18.6 points per game average also sit Davidson at No. 4 in the record books.

In the single-season record category, Davidson holds the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots in rebounds per game.

The 3-year starter on the floor led the Owls to a 52-33 overall record during her time at Kennesaw State, helping bring KSU a winning percentage of .612.

"Kennesaw State has truly played a huge role in shaping the person I am today," added Davidson. "My experience and time that I spent at KSU is priceless. Only being there for a short amount of time, I've made lifelong friendships. The first time I stepped on campus, I was welcomed in with open arms and it automatically felt like a family atmosphere. From that point on, I was not disappointed; everyone was very supportive and wanted you to be successful.

"KSU challenged me to not only be a better student, but a good well rounded individual. Being a student-athlete, I was exposed to so many opportunities and learning how to get involved and utilize the resources that the campus provided. While being a student at KSU, I also had the privilege to become a proud member of the Sigma Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc."

Davidson is currently the head women's basketball coach at St. Petersburg College and has been married to Shaylan Davidson for nine years. The couple has two children, Brianna and Tyler.
