GREENVILLE, S.C. – Seniors Ines Lescudier and Kaew Preamchuen paced the Kennesaw State women's golf team as the Owls sit in seventh place following the opening round of the Lady Paladin Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
 
"After a back and forth day we have positioned ourselves toward the top of the leaderboard," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "We did many great things today, but also need to take care of the details. We capitalized with birdies and this has kept us in it."
 
Lescudier and Preamchuen each fired a one-over par 73 to tie for 19th after the first 18 holes of the tournament, with Lescudier posting four birdies on the day and Preamchuen converting three.
 
Right behind the senior duo was sophomore Laura Estefenn with a two-over par round of 74 to tie for 24th, followed by classmate Dulcie Sverdloff, who registered a five-over par 77 to tie for 48th. Rounding out the Owls was freshman Henriette Nielsen with a six-over par 78 in her first round.
 
Host Furman fired a two-under par total of 286 to lead the team standings through the first round of play, followed closely by Wake Forest (288) and Kansas (289). The Jayhawk's Pornvipa Sakdee leads all individuals after opening with a four-under par 68 on Sunday.
 
Second round action at the Lady Paladin Invitational continues tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 22, with KSU's tee times beginning at 9:09 a.m. ET off of the No. 1 tee. Live scoring for the second round will be available HERE.
