DAUFUESKIE ISLAND, S.C. – Led by sophomore
Teremoana Beaucousin, the Kennesaw State men's golf team carded a 3-under par 285 to assume the first-round lead at the 11-team Rees Jones Invitational that opened Sunday (Sept. 21) at the par-72, 7,380-yard Haig Point Golf Club in Daufuskie Island, S.C.

Beaucousin shot a bogey-free 5-under par 67 to help the Owls to a one-shot advantage over second-place East Carolina (286). The Pirates were led by Al Dickens, who fired a course-record 8-underpar 64. The Owls freshman is tied for second with Winthrop's Zach Seabolt.

Kennesaw State and East Carolina were the only teams to complete the opening 18 holes under par.

Beaucousin is one of four Kennesaw State team-counting players among the top 10. Senior
Jimmy Beck is tied for tied for fifth after carding an even-par 72, while junior
Carlos Segura Oliva and senior
Austin Vick shot 1-over par scores of 73 and are tied for ninth.

Freshman
Wyatt Larkin, playing in his second intercollegiate tournament shot an 8-over par 80 and is tied for 52nd. Fellow KSU freshman teammate #Fredrik Nilehn is one of three Owls competing as an individual and recorded a even-par score of 72 and is tied for fifth.

Sophomore
Chris Guglielmo is tied for 29th after posting a 76 while senior
Kelby Burton produced a first-round score of 78 and is tied for 40th.

The Rees Jones Invitational continues with second-round play on Monday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Kennesaw State is paired with East Carolina and Charleston Southern, and will tee off at 9:20 a.m. (ET). All the action can be followed live on the Internet at
