CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Led by sophomore Teremoana Beaucousin, Kennesaw State posted a 6-under par 282 on Saturday to move up six spots in the standings and is in third place after two rounds of the Tar Heel Intercollegiate that is being held at the par-72, 7,242-yard UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
 
The Owls have a 36-hole total of 7-under par 570 and are 20 shots behind host North Carolina, which leads the 18-team field with a 26-under par score of 550. East Carolina is in second place at 7-under par 569.
 
"Today was a little better performance than yesterday but we still are not clicking on all cylinders," Kennesaw State head coach Jay Moseley said. "Teremoana gave us a great round in what was otherwise another substandard performance.  We are making plenty of birdies but are making too many mistakes on a course that is yielding very low scores right now.  If we clean up the mistakes and make a few more putts, I think we can put up a really low number tomorrow (Sunday)."
 
Beaucousin fired a 6-under par 66 and is tied fourth with a two-round total of 5-under 139, three shots behind North Carolina's Ben Griffin, who has a one-shot lead at 8-under par 136. Beaucousin turned in a bogey-free second round as recorded four birdies and eagle.
 
Senior Jimmy Beck turned in at even-par 72 and is tied for ninth at 4-under par 140. Senior Kelby Burton (142) is tied for 16th, while senior Austin Vick and freshman Wyatt Larkin are tied for 70th at 6-over par 150.
 
Freshman Fredrik Nilehn, who is playing as an individual, carded a 1-over par 73 on Saturday and is tied for 38th at 1-over par 145.
 
The Tar Heel Intercollegiate concludes on Sunday with final-round action beginning at 8 a.m. (ET). The Owls are scheduled to tee off at 9:40 a.m. (ET) and will be grouped with North Carolina, East Carolina and GRU Augusta.
