Women's ResultsSENECA, S.C. – The Kennesaw State cross country team displayed a competitive first meet showing at the Clemson Invitational as both the men's and women's teams finished third at the Musser Fruit Research Farm on Saturday morning.

The women finished with a total team time of 93:40.42 and an average of 18:44.08 in the 53-point total, third place finish. The Owls finished behind champions Clemson (37) and Furman ( 40).
"We had some bright spots which was good to see." Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Andy Eggerth said. "Claire (Bohrer) has really done her work over the summer. Kidan (Kidane) has continued to excel from the strong outdoor season she had last year, and Katrine (Rasmussen) will have an instant impact on our team. As a whole we showed a lack of desire and mental toughness which is very disappointing. Our superior abilities far outweigh our mental abilities so we are going to work on getting our minds right."
In the men's four mile race, all five of the qualifying times came within the top-25 with Kennesaw State newcomer
Daniel Garcia leading the way for the Owls, winning the race with a time of 19:44.57.
Fellow newcomer
Dylan Titon was the next Owl to cross the finish line as he turned in a time of 20:38.14 to place ninth. Freshman
Cameron Gatt placed 14th, running a 21:11.54 in his first-ever collegiate race as
Jordan Hand grabbed a 23
rd place finish with a time of 23:20.22. Veteran Natan Reuter finished 25
th with a time of 24:37.49 to help the Owls secure third place overall.
The men ran a total time of 109:31.96 with an average of 21.54.39 to finish third with a point total of 72. KSU placed behind the host team Clemson (32) and Furman (36)
"For the men this was more of a practice to get the season started," Eggerth said. "It was great to see Daniel get the win which re-affirms why he was an Atlantic-Sun Preseason Runner of the Year nominee. We have work to do but we are moving in the right direction.
The Owls will next be in action on September 20
th in UF Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
