KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State head men's tennis coach Eduardo Rincon officially announced the addition of Alejandro Valencia to the 2014-15 roster on Thursday.

Valencia is one of the top junior players in his native country of Colombia and arrives at KSU ranked as high as No. 387 in the world.

"Alejandro is a great competitor who will make you play an extra ball on every point," said Rincon. "Alejandro's game is based on tenacity and hard work.  I'm certain that his discipline and determination will help our team toward our goals.  He's also brilliant in the classroom and has high expectations on and off the court.  I'm excited to start working with him this fall."

The 6-0 newcomer is no stranger to facing top competition, playing internationally on the Junior Davis Cup and earned a No. 3 junior's ranking in his home country.

Valencia was named a Top 10 ITF player in the Best Progression category and competed on the French Tour in the summer of 2013, earning one tournament championship title.

The freshman is expected to have an immediate impact for KSU this fall.
