KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State baseball team received its highest national ranking in program history in the NCAA Division I era, it was announced on Tuesday.
Collegiate Baseball puts the Owls at No. 12 in their latest poll which was released after the Tallahassee Regional championship won by KSU this past weekend. The Owls moved up 15 spots from number 27 in last week's poll after winning the Regional with the team now having won 26 of their last 27 games.
The weekly poll is the oldest and one of the most well-respected in the game, having been around since its founding in 1959.
KSU is the only ranked A-Sun team as well as the highest ranked to come out of the state of Georgia.
The Owls are now advancing to the NCAA Super Regional where they will face off against Louisville in the first game of the Louisville Super Regional. First pitch on Friday, June 6, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
