The Kennesaw State baseball team remains on the road for its final regular season non-conference game of 2014, heading to Cullowhee, N.C. for a 5 p.m. ET meeting with Western Carolina.

The Owls take the nation's longest win streak of 16 games to Southern Conference leader WCU, the Catamounts holding a seven game win streak of their own.

THE OPPONENT:
Western Carolina leads the Southern Conference heading into the final weekend of the 2014 season and comes in with a 7-game winning streak. The Catamounts also hold a dominating 19-3 record on their home turf.

LAST OUTING:
It took seven innings for the Kennesaw State baseball team get the offense going, but the bats woke up with a roar on Sunday afternoon as the Owls scored 12 runs in the final three innings to complete the series sweep of Northern Kentucky, 13-4.
 
NEXT UP:
KSU will see off the 2014 season with a three-game home series with North Florida, starting off on Thursday, May 14, at 6 p.m. ET.

Owls a Top Four Seed
The Owls have now clinched at least a No. 4 seed in the 8-team A-Sun Tournament with a win over Northern Kentucky and an East Tennessee State loss.
 
Pentecost at the Plate
Max Pentecost now ranks No. 2 in the nation in total hits with his 90 and holds the longest active hit streak in the country at 31 games and counting.
 
Winning Ways
The 16-game win streak for KSU is now the longest active in the nation and is the longest for the Owls since joining the NCAA Division I ranks. 16 wins also ties KSU for the longest win streak at any point in the season with South Carolina

The Owls are back in the top 10 in the nation in total hits with 543. KSU also ranks in the top 50 in total runs this season with 316.
 
Double-Digit Hits
As a team the Owls have now played 32 games with double-digit hits including 16 out of the last 17 contests.
 
McCalvin Sets the Standard
Closer Justin McCalvin set the new standard for saves in the KSU record book, earning his 11th of the season at Northern Kentucky to set a new KSU single-season record.
 
Multi-Hit Games
Pentecost now has 30 games with multi-hit games including 12 with three and two with four and has two or more hits in 11 out of the last 12 games.
