TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Kennesaw State junior Kaew Preamchuen tied for 15th place at the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Golf East Regional that concluded Saturday at SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.

Preamchuen recorded three birdies on her front nine en route to an even-par 72 and a 54-hole total of 2-under par 214. The Owls junior finished seven shots behind Vanderbilt's Jenny Hahn who posted a 9-under par score of 207 and recorded a three-shot victory over Baylor's Hayley Davis (210).

"We are obviously extremely disappointed about not qualifying for the national tournament," Kennesaw State head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Kaew really played well this week and gave herself a great chance to advance. Unfortunately, mistakes late in the round today cost us dearly and we missed by two shots. With that said, I am super proud of Kaew and the way she represented KSU this entire week."

Hahn helped Vanderbilt to the team title as the Commodores led wire-to-wire, finishing with a 24-under par total of 840 and 14 shots ahead of runner-up South Carolina (854).

Vanderbilt, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, Stanford, Virginia, Tulane and Campbell advance to the championships final by virtue of finishing in the top eight. Baylor's Davis and Gabriella Wahl of East Tennessee State also advanced.

Wahl and four other players concluded stroke play at 4-under par 212, and the Buccaneers junior eagled the fourth playoff hole to eliminate Pepperdine's Grace Na and claim the final individual spot.

Preamchuen was a picture of consistency throughout the three rounds and was potentially on her way to taking part in the playoff until a double-bogey on the par-5 16th hole dropped her back to 2-under par for the tournament. She went on to par the final two holes.

In 54 holes, Preamchuen recorded 35 pars, 11 birdies, seven bogeys and one double-bogey.

"The best players in the nation were at this event and Kaew showed that she belonged among them," Brinsmead said. "This performance caps off a great year not only for Kaew but the entire team and program. The future is very bright and I look forward to the seasons ahead."

The championships finals will be held May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. and will be co-hosted by the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission.
