THE PROMOTIONS:The Owls will be hosting a Crawfish Boil for students prior to Wednesday's game. The event will be held in front of the concession stand starting at 5:45 p.m. There will also be a Shane Co. bag giveaway and a Scrappy appearance on Wednesday.
THE OPPONENT:MercerThe Bears enter Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 29-13 and are third in the A-Sun standings with an 11-4 mark in league play. Mercer had its six-game winning streak snapped over the weekend as the Bears were swept in a doubleheader by conference leader USC Upstate on Saturday by scores of 3-2 and 8-0.

Amanda Henderson allowed only one run on six hits and struck out six in a complete game effort to earn the win.
NEXT UP:The Owls continue their home stand with a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series with Stetson on Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13. KSU and the Hatters will play a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday. First pitch for both days is slated for 1 p.m.
NEWS AND NOTES:KSU in A-Sun ActionThe Owls lead the A-Sun in conference play with 152 hits and four triples, while ranking in a tie for second with 23 doubles.
Fielding PercentageKSU owns the best fielding percentage in A-Sun play at .976 and the fourth-best fielding percentage in overall action at .964.

Taylor Denton leads the Owls and ranks ninth in the conference with a .364 batting average in overall action and is second in A-Sun play with a .431 average. She also leads the conference with 25 hits in conference action and is seventh in overall play with 44 total hits this season.
Van Auken Coming on StrongSenior
Carly Van Auken hit over .400 in the past four games, going 5-of-12 from the plate with her third double of the year, her first home run of the season, four runs scored and four RBI.
Chambers in League PlaySophomore
Kara Chambers sits sixth with a .400 batting average in A-Sun play, while also ranking third with 17 runs scored and 22 hits in league games.
Multiple Hit Games Denton holds a team-leading 15 games with multiple hits, 11 with two and four with three, while Chambers, senior
Angie Dascoli and junior
Natalie Rhodes own 12 multiple hit games.
Stolen BasesDenton, Chambers and Rhodes have combined for 27 stolen bases on the year, with Denton taking 10 in 13 attempts, Chambers stealing nine in 11 tries and Rhodes earning eight in 11 attempts.
TriplesRhodes ranks second in the A-Sun and 38th in the NCAA with three triples on the year. The junior also owns a six-game hitting streak and is holding a 1.000 fielding percentage, having not committed an error in 38 games.
Henderson in the CircleSenior
Amanda Henderson ranks second in the A-Sun and 28th in the nation with 149 strikeouts as well as sitting second in the league and 34th in the NCAA with 15 victories in 2014.
