FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The No. 35-ranked Kennesaw State men's golf team shot a final round 17-over par 301 to finish at 29-over par 881 and place seventh at the 14-team Mason Rudolph Championship that concluded Sunday at the par-71, 7,100-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club's South Course in Franklin, Tenn.
Top-ranked Alabama closed with a third-round 12-under par 272 to conclude the tournament at 5-under par 847 and record a nine-shot victory over host and No. 14 Vanderbilt (856).
Freshman
Teremoana Beaucousin turned in a final-round 2-over par 73 to finish at 2-over par 215 and tie for 12th. It marked the fourth time this season that Beaucousin concluded a tournament as the Owls' top finisher. The KSU freshman recorded rounds of 70-72-73.
Juniors
Austin Vick (218) and
Jimmy Beck (223) tied for 22nd and 37th, respectively. Redshirt junior
Kelby Burton (225) tied for 47th, while sophomore
Carlos Segura Oliva (234) tied for 70th.
Florida State's Jack Maguire posted a second straight 5-under par 66 to finish at 10-under par 203 and claim individual medalist honors. Maguire finished seven shots ahead of Vanderbilt's Ben Fogler and Robin Sciot-Siegrist who placed second with 3-under par totals of 210.
Kennesaw State is next in action on April 20 when it opens play in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships at Chateau Elan Legends Course in Braselton, Ga.
